This field trip is ideal for long exposures, infrared, and compositional experimentation in challenging lighting conditions.

The day will start at Scaleber Force waterfall (parking nearby). The stone path down to Scaleber Force is in recently repaired condition but is rough, very steep steps and very uneven. Extreme care is needed particularly after rain. Grippers or Icers are highly recommended.

Leave Scaleber Force and head to Catrigg Force. After parking, 20 minutes walk (1 Km) to Catrigg. Part tarmac, part gravel path. Access can be slippy following rain. Care needed.

Return to car and into Stainforth, public car park £2.50 for 2 hours. Lat. = 54.6.3N, Long. = 2.16.33W.

Walk 700 m approx. to Stainforth Force. Access is easy and mainly level. However, care is needed on the limestone pavement, with very deep drops at the edge into the Force.

Full directions will be supplied to participants nearer to the event.

Should the weather be very inclement in the days leading up to the event, creating access difficulties, the organiser will contact all the participants and may suggest postponement to a later day, or alternative venues may be arranged.

Maximum participants : 6

Meals : It is strongly recommended that you bring sandwiches and flask, in order to leave maximum time at these three beautiful falls. However, we will be driving near Settle, where food and drink can be obtained in advance from various outlets.

Challenges and accessibility : A reasonable level of mobility is required. There is no wheelchair access.

Toilet facilities : The trip will be in the ‘outdoors’ with the limited toilet facilities that normally entails. There are public toilet facilities in Settle and Stainforth.
