This month the London Naturally Group will spend a day exploring around the River Wandle, including visits to two parks, a city farm and an arts and crafts centre. The walk will start at Morden Underground Station and finish at Colliers Wood Underground Station (Northern Line).

We will meet at the La Lavella Cafe across the road opposite the entrance to Morden Station. From here it is a short walk to Morden Hall Park (National Trust).

We will take a leisurely stroll through the park along the river and through a wetland area.

After leaving the park we continue to follow the river to Deen City Farm where we'll pay a visit to see some of the animals large and small.

From the farm another short walk brings us to Merton Abbey Mills – an arts and crafts centre on the site of a former textile works. There is plenty to see here including a working water wheel and craft stalls. There are also numerous places to eat and we will stop here for lunch (or you can bring your own picnic).

After lunch we will explore the nearby Wandle Park before returning from Colliers Wood Station. (Note, if you only want to do the morning walk this station is also just a short walk from Merton Abbey Mills.)
